GBP’s Cebu Site encourages every member of the organization to make segregation a personal commitment, eventually becoming a regular practice and part of its culture.
SWM is usually associated with waste segregation and often overlook the important aspect of composting. In 2014, Cebu Site started to adopt composting methods such as Takakura and vermicomposting to manage organic wastes.
Through its comprehensive SWM, only 10% of the site’s 3,000 kg wastes per month (organic and non-biodegradable) goes to the landfill. It aims to further reduce its landfill waste to 5% by end of 2024.
